Gloria Chien, who The Boston Globe said, “appears to excel in everything,” makes her Festival debut in this recital, which includes Debussy’s Suite bergamasque (you’ll recognize the beloved Clair de lune), two iconic works by Chopin, and Etudes by György Ligeti.

BORODIN String Quartet No. 2 in D Major
The distinguished artists of the newly formed New York Philharmonic String Quartet perform Borodin's String Quartet No.2 (you'll be tempted to hum along with its well-known themes from the musical Kismet, "And This is My Beloved" and "Baubles, Bangles, and Beads"), and Beethoven's Fourth String Quartet–full of drama and passion. This colorful program opens with the world premiere of a new clarinet quintet by Max Grafe, a participant in out 2015 Young Composers String Quartet Project.
